MALI : We will consider new economic actions from October
The minister recalled that Serbian government has allotted EUR 5.8 billion for the economy stimulus package, helping citizens, business entities and employees.
– The measure helped preserve the economy and jobs. We are satisfied that, despite the horrible consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, more business entities were opened than were closed down whereas the unemployment rate in the second quarter was at the historic low of 7.3 % , Mali emphasized.
As he stated, SMEs faced the greatest challenge during the pandemic so the measures were mainly created for their needs.
– This week we paid the last installment of the minimum wage to business entities and employees that already signed up for financial help, while the payment of two 60% minimum wages in the total amount of RSD 36,000 for new companies will take place on September 21, 2020. This financial aid is another incentive for strengthening their position on the market, Mali reminded and added that the hotel owners would soon receive state subsidies.
Hotel owners have until October 15 to apply for state subsidies of EUR 350 per bed and EUR 150 per accommodation unit, Mali specified.
He pointed out that the state firmly stands behind the business owners by, among other things, providing various types of funding so as to encourage sustainability and growth. He also believes that the US Development Finance Corporation opening office in Belgrade soon will further help the cause.
