After the National Association of Freight Forwarding Companies and Agents “Transport and Logistics” officially requested from the state administration, Customs Administration and the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia to reassess their decision on moving the Customs Outpost Warehouses location from Dobanovci to Simanovci, the Customs Administration has stated that after a proposal made by Belgrade Customs Office it has published a call for the quality and officially better solution for one of the most important outposts within its biggest customs office at

– The reason for the initiative was the fact that the contract for the previous commercial property, that is, a terminal has expired. In that case , according to the Ministry of Finance instruction from 2019 a public call should be published and all requirements listed in the legal act should be met. The very procedure of finding a new location was carried out in compliance with all current regulations (Ministry of Finance Instruction from 2019 and Customs Administration Internal Act), said the Customs Administration.

They add that according to the procedure, public call was published both on the Customs Administration website and in the daily newspapers circulated on the territory of the Republic of Serbia.

– Based on the review of two submitted offers and reviewing the actual state of the space offered, Customs Administration Board of Experts has reached a decision to sign a lease agreement with the Eassy pass d.o.o. from Belgrade. They looked at whether the requirements regarding functionality, equipment and safety were met regardless of the number of employees in agreement with the aforementioned Ministry of Finance Instruction. The board has, within the given time, assessed that the new location met all conditions listed in the public ad and that it had a weighbridge inside the property (the old location had one outside the property). That was the decisive reason for the Customs Administration Board decision, the official statement said.

Customs Administration tried to make the whole process absolutely transparent and to give access to pertinent information to all interested individuals, in compliance with the current procedure.

– However, that doesn't mean we have to inform any party involved upfront, the Customs Administration said. Their statement added that the reason for the short delay and increased number of vehicles on September 7 lies in the fact that it was the fist work day on a new location and that there was an traffic accident near the outpost which contributed to the traffic jam.

– Following the incident investigation, the line of trucks was cleared. After a few days on the new location, the work at the outpost will go smoother and without any delay the statement concludes.
