Freight Forwarders Against Moving Customs Outpost Warehouses from Dobanovci to Simanovci
They said that this was the fourth time the customs outpost is moved to a location which hadn't been adapted to the planned purpose and which didn't have the infrastructure required for the workload we had in the old locations.
– After Mladenovac, Backa Palanka and Novi Sad, freight forwarders, warehouse owners, manufacturing and trading companies that operate in the area of Customs Outpost Warehouses have found themselves unable to continue their regular operations, the official request states.
They added that, yet again, not all parties involved in this decision had been consulted or recognized as partners. Instead they are faced with the accomplished fact which would put strain on their business, significantly increase the cost of operations leading to increasing the cost of their services and would shake up their organizational structure.
– We have established that the facility where the customs outpost is to be moved has neither been completed nor equipped and that many companies will be unable to rent the space for their operations. Instead, they will have to work and prepare the paperwork in their current offices in Dobanovci and bring the documents to the new location. That manner of business will prolong the customs procedures many times over, which will have as a consequence unforeseeable delays and unpredictable expenses in deliveries. This is directly the opposite of the state's years-log striving to shorten the customs procedures time and reduce their costs, as well as the stated state policy of accepting European standards and recommendations, the request said.
