Air Serbia to increase flight frequency on New York route come October
During October, Belgrade – New York flights will have a seating capacity of 8,636 passenger, and increase in 41.7% compared to capacity of 6,096 seats in the same period last year, the company stated.
– Having in mind the increased demand, we decided to expand our New York flights seating capacity. We are pleased that despite the coronavirus pandemic this route is still doing well and is one of Air Serbia's most successful routes, said Air Serbia's Commercial and Strategy General Manager Jiri Marek.
Since opening the direct route over the Atlantic Ocean back in June 2016 up until August 2020 Air Serbia has made 758 return flights in total.
Four years ago, Serbian national airline connected the region with the USA once more after nearly a two-and-a-half-decade hiatus.
The planes used for Belgrade-New York flights are Airbus A330 models named after Serbian scientist and inventor Nikola Tesla.
