Representatives of the Government of Serbia have proposed today for the increase of the minimum wage to be 4-6%, and the employers say that they are ready to compromise when it comes to the question of the minimum wage in 2021, but so that the growth does not jeopardize the operations of companies in Serbia, the Serbian Association of Employers announced.

The employers say that they would look into the proposition carefully and that they are ready to compromise, but not at any cost and not in a way that would jeopardize companies' operations.

The Serbian Association of Employers believes that an increase of the minimum wage of up to 6%, which matches the expected growth of the GDP in 2021, is possible, under the condition that companies' operations are facilitated through additional measures.

Those additional measures would be an increase of non-taxable salary components from 16,000 to 19,000 dinars and a reduction of salary taxes and contributions.
