Border Industrial Zone to be Built Between Serbia and Republika Srpska

A plan has been devised for the forming of a joint industrial zone in the border area between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was announced today after a meeting between the two delegations.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced that the joint industrial zone should be located between towns and municipalities in Serbia and Republika Srpska – Ljubovija and Bratunac, Mali Zvornik and Zvornik, and that the area between Sremska Raca, Dvorovi and Bijeljina would be considered as well.

Also, as he added, Serbia will work with Republika Srpska on building a 17-km highway from the bridge on the Sava on the border to Bijeljina.

According to him, there was talk at the meeting about supporting the young in agricultural production, in the amount of up to EUR 12,500, and especially for the development of primary production and manufacturing capacities.

– We also exchanged opinions about supporting small enterprises, which would get grants of 45%, jointly provided by Republika Srpska and, for the most part, Serbia, whereby the participation would be 5%, whereas 50% would be secured through bank loans – Vucic said, as announced on the government's website.

– It is important that companies run and owned by the Republic of Serbia be able to take part in tenders in Bosnia and Herzegovina – he said.
