The Biogas Serbia Association has announced that it has published “A Guide for Investors”, that is, for anyone interested in building biogas facilities in Serbia.

The guide was developed by the association with the help of the Sector for Rural Development of the Ministry of Agriculture and with the support of the German biogas association Fachverband Biogas e.V, the press release says.

As pointed out, the guide is based on the experiences of the members of the Biogas Serbia Association, pioneers in the biogas sector, whose facilities have been operating successfully for a number of years.

It is estimated that the guidelines will be of great help to investors who are yet to decide whether to make an investment or start a biogas business in Serbia.

The main purpose of the guide is to incite new investors, encourage investments in this sector and support the investors that have already decided to invest in biogas.

In addition to useful information, the guide also cites the most common mistakes made in building these facilities and the steps that should be taken to prevent them.

In addition to practical advice, such as the necessary quantities of the raw material, the process of choosing the right technology, or how to build and manage a biogas facility, the guide also features guidelines for a proper approach to the analysis of one's own capabilities, as well as examples of operations of power plants of various capacities.

The guide can be downloaded at the Biogas Serbia Association's website – www.biogas.org.rs.

It is noted that the name change from Biogas Association into Biogas Serbia Association is down to its becoming an umbrella association, a representative organization, causing the national designation to be added to the name.

They remind that the association was founded in 2012, when the first biogas facilities in Serbia were raised, and in its eight years of existence, it has become a representative association in the biogas industry in Serbia, which currently has more than 50 members, many of which are pioneers in the production of biogas in these areas, the press release says.

The Biogas Association is the first and only association to gather nearly all operators of biogas facilities, as well as companies which produce equipment for biogas facilities, consultancies and insurance companies, universities and nearly all companies operating in the biogas sector in Serbia, but also foreign companies which operate in this sector.
