Aleksandrovac to Develop Cycling Tourism – New Bicycle Lanes to Lead to Wineries, Monasteries and Museums, Looking for Designers
Route 1 – Blue Lane goes from the seat of the Tourism Organization of Aleksandrovac, down Solunskih Ratnika Street, through the Lukarevina field, by the Drenca Monastery and further down the roads leading to wineries in Drenca, Donja Rzanica, Trzac, Rataj, Votkovo, Markovina, Borje and ending in Aleksandrovac, making for a veritable vine road. The route is around 20 km long.
Route 2 – Green Lane goes from the Museum of Wine and Viticulture in Aleksandrovac, through the Gornje Stanjevo field, down to Stubal, Ljubinci, through Varine, Trnavci, Vrazogrnac, Subotica, Gornje Zleginje (the branch toward the Celije Lake), Donje Zleginje, Garevina, Gornji Stupanj, the Dasnica field and Sogolj, to the Rataje-Stopanja road and the to the Tules turn, through the Djordjevici village, Srnjani, Bratici and Donja Rzanica, where it connects to the Blue Lane, covering another part of the wine area. The route is around 44 km long.
Route 3 – Red Lane goes from the turn toward the Lukarevina field, down the Puhovac-Leskovica road to Leskovica, and the further through Latkovac and Gornja Velika Vrbnica to Strmenica, to Ples and Mitrovo Polje, then through Rogavcina and Masinerija, through Seocanske Bacije, Belusic, Bukovik to Smrecje, through Jovancevica na Ploci, to Karaula, past the medieval town of Koznik, through Grcak, Gornja Velika Vrbnica, Gornji Vratari, Starci, Mala Raklja, Prevoji and ending in front of the Museum of Wine and Viticulture in Aleksandrovac. The route is around 81 km long.
The project needs to include resting and technical stations in nearby wineries and restaurants. These should feature a place for water refilling and a set of tools for the manual servicing of bicycles.
The design should also feature lookouts in suitable locations along the routes. These should take the form of vacation houses meeting all the requirements for people to rest and get tourist and orientation information, preferably at a high altitude. The facility needs to have a concrete or stone flat area, a wood canopy of at least 5 m2 (evergreen wood), two benches and a table, a garbage can, all built from stable and resilient materials.
The project also needs to include adequate traffic signalization in line with the current regulations and standards on EuroVelo routes, as well as tourist signalization, that is, signs pointing to nearby cultural and historical monuments, wineries, restaurants and other tourist attractions.
Bids may be submitted by September 21, 2020.
