The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, Marko Cadez, stated today that the My First Salary was a way for young people to start their careers. Cadez said for RTS that the application of companies for that program began on August 17 and that it ended on September 25.

According to him, applications are made through a portal prepared by the Office for IT, and the National Employment Service has already opened a special section for the My First Salary program for companies on its website.

– The application of young people for jobs at these companies is to follow. This program solves the issue of the beginning of one's career – Cadez said and added that the program lasted nine months and that no employer was obliged to employ any participant in the program afterwards.

Under this government program, the employers which offer the first job to the young people with high school and university degrees will get help in paying salaries from the state.

– I believe that, for the employer, if they put nine months into training someone, they will have an interest in employing that person – Cadez said.
