The last fur farm in Bosnia and Herzegovina closed in mid-July, and activists emphasize that this points to a future in which animal cruelty in the country will end.

Maida Sabeta, the president of the Animal Rights Organization EcoVegAnimals (EVA), says that the closing of the last fur farm in BiH is a great step forward, considering the numerous efforts by activists to eliminate every instance of animal cruelty.

– Farms are closing all over the world, as the demand has simple disappeared. More than 1,000 fashion designers have eschewed fur and publicly announced it, such as Gucci, Armani, Versace and others – Sabeta said. She says that the farmers were forced to close the farms for financial reasons after the activists' campaigns.

According to the most recent data, there were 73 fur farms in BiH, of which 60 chinchilla fur farms and 13 marten fur farms.
