RETROSPECTIVE 2009 - investments in category of AGRICULTURE AND FOOD INDUSTRY that drew greatest attention of eKapija's users in 2009
EKapija's investment team has recently done the analysis and formed the rank list of investments and investment ideas that drew the greatest attention of eKapija's users in 2009. The results are very interesting, with plenty of surprises, so that we've decided to share this information with you.
The projects are divided into 12 categories. This time we are presenting the top 10 in the category of AGRICULTURE AND FOOD INDUSTRY.(Ljubiša Jovanović, BD Agro)
The first-ranked on the list is the investment in Cow farm in Dobanovci, which was created with the ambition of reaching the planned number of of 2,400 in-calf heifers by the end of year 2009, which would make the farm one of the biggest and the most modern in Europe. In addition, a bio-gas factory within the farm should be put in operation in 2010. Serbian-Canadian company BD Agro invested about 30m EUR in reconstruction of agricultural farm Budućnost, 25m of which were invested in construction works and procurement of the best cow sorts, while 5m were invested in modern accommodation and milking systems.
The second on the list is the investment by company Vindija in Serbia. Namely, food industry Vindija from Varaždin opened its first factory for producing and processing poultry meat in Serbia in Plandište in May. It previously bought slaughterhouse Planima Farms and invested 12m EUR in its modernization.
Vindija earlier announced that it would have an industrial meat-packing complex, with complete accompanying contents and milk purchase point, built in the location of fomer dairy. It was presented on that occasion that the halls for production of fresh meat and chicken meat products, power plant, pound with waste water pre-treatment unit and slaughterhouse chicken waste processing unit would be built in the location of old dairy, at the surface of 9.7690 ha.
The story of what can be made of truffles deserved the third place. The representatives of mushroom cooperative Agrogljiva from Novi Sad spoke about brandy, wine, canape, chocolate...of truffles.
The next on the list are projects Stars chewing gum, the commencement of production of Gorki List in Slovenia and greenhouse Grow Rasad at 1.3 ha in Irig.
The seventh-ranked is the project by Dutch-Swiss company Tri Stan Fresh Produce, which announced construction of greenhouse and distribution center in Svilajnac, worth 1.5m EUR. The eighth is new chocolate factory Bambi-Banat, the ninth is Imlek's storage center for long-lasting milk in Zemun, while the tenth is the project by family company Internacional Business Relation Tomato (IBR Tomato) from Martinci near Sremska Mitrovica, which is the only company in Serbia that is certified to produce tomato according to GLOBALGAP certificate (The Global Partnership for Good Agricultural Practice).
