EIB Approves Loan of EUR 340 Million for Autoceste FBiH for Section on Corridor 5C

The European Investment Bank (EIB) informed the management of Autoceste FBiH this Tuesday that the loan for the Poprikuse-Medakovo section of 36 km on Corridor 5C had been approved, Avaz reports.

The loan is worth EUR 340 million, and the grant application has been approved as well.

This way, the EIB will finance the entire section toward the north. The information has been confirmed for Avaz by Adnan Terzic, the director of this state-owned company.

– Autoceste FBiH will thereby close the entire financial construction for Corridor 5C from Zenica to the north, that is, to the RS border – Terzic says.

What remains is for the financial construction toward the south to be closed, pertaining to the section toward Herzegovina, which includes the construction of the Prenj megatunnel. The total value of the section is EUR 1.4 billion. The funds were secured a long time ago, but the Government of the Federation first needs to give its approval.
