Mines and Smelter Zajača near Loznica produced 16,000 tons of raw lead in 2009, which is five times more than before the privatization in 2006, when the production amounted to about 3,000 tons.

The company's CEO, Vojin Rašić, told weekly magazine Lozničke Novosti that they planned to additionally increase production in 2010, which would be made possible through construction of new lead refining factory and two new furnaces with daily capacity of 45 tons of lead.

Rašić points out that 15m EUR have been invested in the company over the last four years and adds that the most significant investment was the lead separation facility.

What it was privatized on February 28, 2006, the company had 150 workers. It now has 300 employees and plans to hire new people. The company operates within Šabac-based concern Farmakom MB.
