New Tender for Designer of Belgrade-Zrenjanin-Novi Sad Highway

China Shandong International Economic & Technical, the Belgrade branch, has opened the second tender for the preliminary design of the Belgrade-Zrenjanin-Novi Sad highway. The bid submission deadline is June 15.

As China Shandong International told eKapija, the new tender has been opened as the bids sent during the previous one did not meet the requirements.

– The first tender was terminated, as most bidders had failed to meet the requirements – the company told our portal.

The 110-m highway is to feature 12 interchanges, three bridges and a railway bridge, and the estimated value of the construction is EUR 600 million. The estimated speed on the highway is 130 km/h.

Let us remind that, a week ago, the Government of Serbia adopted the decision on the preparation of the Spatial Plan of the special purpose area of the Belgrade-Zrenjanin-Novi Sad highway.

The Ministry of Transport previously pointed out that connecting Zrenjanin by highway with Novi Sad and Belgrade would make for a safer and quicker traffic between these three cities, as well as of the entire north, east and central Banat with Belgrade and the administrative center of Vojvodina.

– At the moment, the realization of the project is in the phase of the preparation of the project task, which entails the choice of the optimal highway route, especially in the Belgrade-Zrenjanin direction, and the defining of the project task for the preparation of the special purpose area plan. This is to be followed by the preparation of project-technical documentation – the ministry announced.

Minister Zorana Mihajlovic announced earlier that the documentation for the project would be prepared in 2020.
