The border crossings between Serbia and Hungary are open, which is good news for citizens and hotel owners, which are already prepared to welcome the guests. Some hotels have already opened, complying with all the sanitary measures, which are now much stricter due to the coronavirus pandemic. One of the most popular hotels among Serbian tourists, Hunguest Hotel Forras in Szeged, emphasizes that, now more than ever, the health and safety of the guests and the employees are the absolute priority in tourism.

– All our hotels are readily implementing all the measures of protection against the spreading of COVID-19, which means that all the employees are wearing masks and that cash payments are not an option anymore. Payments are made by card exclusively. The guests also must wear masks in the reception hall. Also, the time between the departure of guests from one room and the arrival of new ones to the same room has been increased to twelve hours, so that the rooms would be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. In case there is a lower number of guests, the restaurants will operate under the a la carte principle, and if a hotel has more than 30 guests, a buffet will be organized, with cooks serving the food. This means that there is no more self-service in restaurants, and the guests need to keep a distance of a meter and a half – Karmen Kanyo, the sales manager of Hunguest Hotels, says for eKapija.

For local tourism, Hotel Forras in Szeged is open since May 22, and since all the border crossings between Serbia and Hungary are open the citizens of both countries can cross the border freely without being quarantined.

– We welcome our dear guests from Serbia with open arms as well. Serbian tourists are right behind the Hungarians. We welcome all the guests who love swimming, Hungarian gastronomy and shopping – our interviewee says.

As for Hunguest Hotel Forras in Szeged, the plan is for all indoor and outdoor pools to start working this week, as well as all nine water slides. As before, there will be guards at the water slides, and personal distance will need to be maintained in queues.

– At the moment, the health and safety of the guests and the employees is the most important. The coronavirus pandemic has taught us that we are important to each other, that there needs to be solidarity and that we need to take care of each other. The need to travel is one of our strongest needs, and it is our desire to enable our guests to feel good and safe during their trip – Karmen concludes.
