Serbia Continues to Invest in Coal, First Quantities from Radljevo in 2022 – State to Provide EUR 500 Million
– In October 2019, we began excavation works here, and we expect to get the first quantities of coal in 2022. We will invest EUR 500 million here, and the capacities are sufficient for the next 60 years. We will excavate 13 to 13.5 million tons of coal a year here – Vucic said.
Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic pointed out that, in the conditions of the pandemic and the state of emergency, the mining and energy companies had shown that they are stable and added that they had kept producing regularly, supplying all the key energy sources.
– I especially want to thank the miners of EPS, who realized a growth of the coal production of 5.3% compared to the previous year – Antic said and added that the mining sector and energy companies would end the year 2020 with a positive balance compared to 2019, thereby contributing to the growth of the Serbian GDP.
