Payment of Three Minimum Wages to 1.1 Million Employees to Begin on May 7 – Permanent Salary Raise for Health Workers
A total of 237,000 employers applied for the three minimum wages paid by the state as support to the economy.
Saying the the salary raise for health workers is permanent, the minister said that this will bring the salary of medical nurses at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases up to around 54,000 dinars, which, he said, is an increase of 76% in the past few years.
– An infectology specialist will have a salary of around 105,000 dinars, which is 65% more than in 2011 – Mali said for RTS.
He announced that the application of citizens for the payment of a one-off aid of EUR 100 would begin on May 15 and last until June 5.
He added that a sum of RSD 29.5 billion was meant for the postponement of the payment of taxes and contributions.
– By implementing the measures, we have managed to keep most of the jobs during the crisis. In two months, around 6,000 citizens have applied for help at the National Employment Service – the minister said.
Over 3,000 companies applied in ten days for inexpensive credits through the Development Fund, and 179 credits were approved, worth a total of RSD 1.5 billion.
– The money is already entering the economy and companies are using it for their own liquidity – he said and added that 80% of microcompanies had also expressed interest in taking part in the guarantee scheme of support through commercial banks.
He said that there were talks with the tourist sector, the sector most affected by the crisis, about how to provide them with additional help.
Saying that Serbia ended the first quarter with a 5% growth, Mali assessed that, in 2020, Serbia would be the most successful economy in Europe, with a growth which, as he said, might be at zero.
