Four textile companies from Novi Pazar at trade fair in Dusseldorf

Four textile companies from Novi Pazar will appear at the joint booth of the Fashion Fair in Dusseldorf between February 7 and 9, 2010, under slogan "Jeans from Serbia".

Novi Pazar-based companies Exit, Denis Star, Benneli and one more that will be selected soon will participate in this fair with the financial support of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), and their appearance will be organized by the Sandžak Economic Development Agency (SEDA).

The Head of the USAID's regional office, Ahmet Halilagić, said yesterday (January 14, 2010) to the press that the aim of that project was to make it possible for the companies from Novi Pazar to penetrate the markets of the EU countries, as well as to provide new jobs, better sales and the economy growth.

- Serbia is opening towards Europe and it is up to us to try to be present in European market with the best manufacturers - Halilagić said after official signing of the contract between these companies and the organizer of their participation in the fair.

He added that those companies had reached the level of quality of products that can be acceptable for the needs of European market.

Halilagić added that the value of the project was 39,000 USD, 30,000 USD of which would be set aside by USAID, while the companies themselves would provide the rest of the money.

Halilagić pointed out that the partner in that project was the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, as well as its branch office in Frankfurt, which would organize the business meetings with potential buyers and distributors during the Fair.

The owner of Benneli, Berat Kurtanović, said that, as the only representatives of the country at that fair, they would represent not only Novi Pazar, but also whole Serbia.

- We will also represent other companies that took the path of development, especially 130 companies that are the members of the Association of Textile Companies. We expect to represent the city and the country in the best possible way, as well as to make progress and employ more workers - said Kurtanović.

He said that all companies had already prepared their Fall/Winter 2010 collections for the Fashion Fair.
