(Illustration) Raspberries from Serbia being exported to the EU will no longer be subject to additional norovirus controls, facilitating the export of these goods and making for an increased income for the producers, the Ministry of Agriculture of Serbia told Tanjug.

The European Commission decided to remove the measure of additional control of frozen raspberries from Serbia, the ministry explained.

The measure of additional 10% control, that is, control of each tenth shipment of raspberries from Serbia for norovirus, has led to additional costs for exporters and decreased income for producers.

The Ministry of Agriculture says that, in the past years, they've been working intensively on establishing a system of food safety, guaranteeing product quality, and entailing a legal framework, the accreditation of the norovirus testing methods and the education of inspectors, producers and processors of raspberries, which has led to the decision made by the EU.
