The construction of a new pedestrian-cycling bridge between Ada Ciganlija and Block 70a is planned for next year, and the head urban planner of Belgrade, Marko Stojcic, has published the preliminary design.

Stojcic said that the preliminary design had been prepared by his department and that he was proud of the solution.

– I am proud of the Urban Planner's Department, which prepared this preliminary design of the pedestrian-cycling bridge between Block 70a and Ada Ciganlija – Stojcic wrote on his Instagram profile.

Let us remind that, in late 2019, an anonymous survey was carried out on the website of the City of Belgrade about the fate of the Old Sava Bridge, and Stojcic said that the majority of the citizens had picked the option of having the structure of the Old Sava Bridge moved to the Usce Park and having a new one built, connecting New Belgrade with Ada Ciganlija.

The option entails two phases – the construction of a new bridge for pedestrian and bicycle traffic in the extension of Omladinskih Brigada Street to Ada Ciganlija and the disassembly of the Sava Bridge and its reassembly between the Usce shopping center and the Museum of Contemporary Art.

According to this idea, the bridge would serve as something of a sculpture in the Usce Park, at 4.5 meters above the ground, and the space underneath would have “cultural, commercial and entertainment features.”

The investment value of the works is around RSD 1.7 billion, or around EUR 15 million.
