The beginning of the construction of the Pozega-Duga Poljana “railway”, connecting Pester with Belgrade and also with Sarajevo, can be expected in 2021, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today in Novi Pazar.

Almost certainly, this was a slip of the tongue, as a section of the highway which is to connect Serbia and Montenegro, that is, Pozega and Boljare, is supposed to pass through Duga Poljana. No railway is mentioned in the current plans, though some old plans include the construction of a railway to Novi Pazar.

The president added that a fast main road on the Novi Pazar-Raska-Kraljevo route was also to be built. Vucic said that, in the preceding few days, a total of 248 trucks with Serbian goods had been sent to Kosovo and Metohija and pointed out that there were no shortages of any type of goods.

Let us remind that Vucic arrived this morning to Novi Pazar, a new coronavirus hotspot, where he handed over ten clinical and three transport respiratory ventilators to the town hospital.
