Unlike Serbia, where healthcare employees will have their salaries raised by 10%, Croatia and B&H are announcing a lowering of salaries in the public sector by 10-15%.

After the outbreak of coronavirus, the countries of the region took various measures to save the economy, including the lowering of salaries in the public sector.

The Minister of Economy of Croatia, Darko Horvat, said earlier that, if other methods do not help, public sector salaries need to be lowered.

In B&H as well, the Federal Prime Minister, Fadil Novalic, said that he believed that everyone's salary should be lowered in the coronavirus crisis.

– Of course I believe that everyone's salary should be lowered. If we need to begin with the highest officials, I have no problem with that. Some decisions need to be made by the parliament and some by the government. Salaries should be lowered, starting with mine – Novalic said, as reported by the Klix portal.
