The Government of Serbia has adopted an order pertaining to tax measures during the state of emergency. Article 2 of the Order pertains to natural and legal persons, agriculturists and entrepreneurs for whom a postponement of repayment of tax debts has been approved, in line with the provisions between Article 73 and Article 74 b of the Law of Tax Procedure and Tax Administration.

The taxpayers who have already signed the Agreement on Postponement of Tax Debt with the Tax Administration, to which Article 2 of the Order pertains, will not be subject to the measures proscribed by Article 74, Paragraphs 7-9 of the Law on Tax Procedure and Tax Administration, beginning with the installment which is due in March 2020. This means that, during the state of emergency, the Tax Administration will not cancel the agreement, that is, the decision on postponement of tax repayment, and will not enforce repayment, and the interest is not calculated in said period in line with Articles 75 and 76 of the Law on Tax Procedure and Tax Administration, it is said on the website of the Ministry of Finance.

The Order on Tax Measures During the State of Emergency, which aims to ameliorate the economic consequences of the COVID-19 epidemic, comes into effect on the date of publication in the Official Gazette.
