Due to the closing of Fiat's factories in Italy and other countries greatly affected by coronavirus, the head of FCA Serbia, Mike Manley, has temporarily postponed the halting of the production activities at the Kragujevac car plant.

Novosti has learned from the operating management in Kragujevac that the company insists on the production of the 500L model as Serbia is not yet affected by coronavirus to a critical degree and that the management in Italy has unofficially said that the production in Kragujevac can be organized as long as the workers are not jeopardized.

– The lack of small plastic components and stereos, which are built in China and installed in the cars produced in Kragujevac, seriously jeopardized the production in the heart of Sumadija last month – a source, who wishes to remain anonymous, told Novosti.

– Considering that the group has several suppliers for the same products, the problem has been temporarily solved. The factory in Kragujevac has thereby secured enough of those spare parts for a two weeks' worth of production. Up to around 4,000 cars could be produced in this case.
