The engineers of Telekom Srbija and the PE Srbijavode are working on pilot projects, using software solutions, which would help predict floods in Serbia.

This was stated by the general manager of Telekom, Predrag Culibrk, who added that the aim was to prevent potential disasters.

According to him, it is not difficult to predict potential torrent waves on the Sava and the Danube, if they start in another European country, but the problem lies in other, smaller rivers in Serbia, Dnevnik reports.

– We are trying to help Srbijavode and to develop a solution together, so that we could predict future floods and prevent disasters, such as the one in Obrenovac – Culibrk said.

He added that it was not enough to measure the water levels, but that the amount of rainfall and the mountain waters must be monitored as well, all of which should act as a basis for the development of the software.
