A monument to Kind Alexander Karadjordjevic (Alexander I of Yugoslavia) will be raised between the Old and the New Palace in Belgrade, that is, between the General Secretariat of the President of the Republic of Serbia and the City Assembly of Belgrade, the Board for the Raising of Monuments decided at the first session, presided over by academy member Dusan Kovacevic.

The sculpture of the assassinated Serbian and Yugoslav monarch on a horse will not be located in the center of the flower roundel, as was previously considered, but closer to the Pioneers Park, and the technical details are to be defined by the Urban Planning Institute of Belgrade.

The reason for moving the location of the monument is that it has been determined that the flower roundel location is the spot where the lives of King Alexander and Queen Draga of the Obrenovic dynasty ended during the May Coup of 1903. The Board therefore decided to move the location in order to avoid a negative public reaction.
