The National Assembly of Serbia has adopted the Census Law, pertaining to citizens, households and apartments in 2021 and regulating the preparation, organization and execution of the census, which will be carried out between April 1 and 30, 2021.

The law says that the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia is obliged to publish preliminary results within 30 days of the completion of the census, whereas the final results are to be published successively by December 2022.

The 2021 census will use portable computers for data collection for the first time.

Also, this is the first time that a mechanism will be established for connecting the census data with the geospatial data at the address level.
