MK Group to buy part of Port of Trieste?
As the Italian media reports, the Adria Terminal in Trieste would then become a service area with a parking lot accessible to all, the daily Vecernje novosti writes.
As stated, a public consortium is currently being set up which will be tasked with selling around 40 warehouses. The report adds that Kostic already had a meeting with the mayor of Trieste, whom he allegedly advised not to insist on transforming the Adria terminal into a cruiser dock after the present concession contract with GMT Genoa Metal expires on February 115, 2022.
The Italian media write that when they started their interest, the MK Group hasn't mentioned any financial predictions because the consortium is yet to determine the basic price of the goods in the Old Port during the tendering procedure – from cultural and exhibition activities to the Grensisam citadel.
The reports added that the MK Group was planning to expand its business empire in the north of the Adriatic where it plans to invest EUR 110 million in accommodation capacities which will strengthen the elite tourism along with Kempinski hotel and golf courses in Savudrija.
