Belgrade included on Google Transit – GSP Belgrade now on Google Maps too
This service is available through Google Maps app and means that users will be able to get information on how to go from point A to poi B not only on foot or by car but also with public transportation.
When you type the desired destination the program gives you a graphic route map and line number you have to take as well as the time of the vehicle's arrival and the ticket price.
Apex database is the source of the information. The GTFS feed will be automatically generated from the Apex database but Google will probably need a day or two to start collecting the latest data.
Google Transit is available for use in the well-known OS and Android apps and in web browsers.
GTFS file will soon be accessible through the Public Procurement portal like in the case of other cities that have been covered by this project .Those files will be also available for other applications or uses (such as Moovit, Open Street Maps, etc)
In the next period, the joint project of the Office for information technologies and e-Government and UNDP Serbia will also create a GTFS feed of the public transport system in Pancevo. Six cities in total will thus be covered: Nis, Uzice, Kragujevac, Subotica, Belgrade (done, automatically generated) and Pancevo (in progress).
One should have in mind that this information is not real-time data (not real-time GTFS), rather, the data from the public transportation schedule are used. The plan is to create a real-time GTFS feed in some of the cities mentioned.
