The Chinese company Xingyu has bought 6.6 hectares of building land from a private owner in the Industrial Zone West as part of the preparations for the beginning of the construction of a car lighting factory in Nis, it was confirmed for Tanjug today at the city's Office for Local Economic Development (KLER).

The investors from China plan to buy up to 13.5 hectares of undeveloped building land for an investment worth EUR 50 million in Nis.

As the construction is to be carried out in phases, there are no obstacles for investors to start the construction, KLER says and adds that additional building land for the purposes of this investment will be alienated as well.

Last year, a memorandum of understanding was signed for this investment, which should provide jobs for 1,000 people in Nis, KLER says, and Xingyu plans to start building the factory in the first quarter of the current year.
