Tender for Lasta to open in April 2020 – Another 84 state companies with 30,000 employees waiting for privatization
In the past five years, in line with the Law on Privatization, 310 of the former state companies have gone into bankruptcy, and a total of 62 have been privatized. A total of 84 companies with close to 30,000 employees remain a responsibility of the Ministry of Economy, which has taken over the affairs of the Agency for Privatization.
– The authorities are looking into the possibilities of potential strategic investments in MSK, but note that it no longer had unsettled obligations toward Srbijagas and EPS – the IMF report says. – The tender for the privatization of the Lasta bus company has been postponed for mid-2020 so that there would be enough time to resolve the issues, including the optimization of the workforce. The government has not yet adopted a plan for the closing of the inaccessible Resavica coal mines.
By sending a letter of intent, the government has confirmed its determination to negotiate with potential investors for Petrohemija and make progress in the privatization of several strategic companies.
