VUCIC: High-speed railway to be built from Belgrade to Nis, trains to run 160 km an hour to Presevo
Vucic said that he had already talked to Greek representatives about the need for a good rail connection between the North Macedonian border and Thessaloniki, considering that Serbia is soon to build a high-speed railway from Belgrade to Nis, the same as the one being built between Belgrade and the Hungarian border toward Budapest (for train speeds of up to 200 kilometers an hour).
– We will then also build a railway from Nis to Presevo for 120 to 160 kilometers an hour. This will create a railway corridor not just for Serbia, but for Greece as well – Vucic emphasized.
He reminded that large amounts of goods from China and other countries were transported from the Port of Piraues in Athens to Central and West Europe by rail.
The Serbian president told the Greek business people that they should invest in Serbia and emphasized that many European companies were coming to Serbia, especially those from Germany, which employ 62,000 people.
