Commercial contract for construction of Morava Corridor signed
The contract was signed by the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic and the representatives of the Turkish-American consortium Bechtel ENKA UK Limited, Michael Wilkinson and Mehmet Tara.
The President of Serbia met with the Turkish-American consortium representatives prior to the the contract signing.
Morava Corridor will be 112-km long and will connect all the following major towns of Central Serbia between Pojate and Cacak – Krusevac, Kraljevo, Trstenik and Vrnjacka Banja. This important route will create a link on the area populated by around 500,000 people.
The future highway will also create a connection between two European corridors – Corridor X and XI.
About 140 structures are to be constructed along the Morava Corridor. These include 71 bridge, 23 overpasses and five underpasses, 31 culverts as well as 11 interchanges while the highway will be around 30 meters wide.
