Construction of national stadium might begin by mid-2020 – Engineering designs to come in about ten days
He reminded that Serbia had applied as a potential host of future European and world championships, along with other countries in the region.
Mali emphasized that the project would drive the development of that part of Belgrade, but also the entire Serbian economy.
– We want to further upgrade the sports sector and promote our country – Mali said and added that the aim was for the stadium to be suitable for the Champions League final.
As he said, the location has about 600 hectares and is included in the Master Plan which will be presented publicly in two to three weeks, when the engineering designer for the national stadium is selected.
He added that the project would also stimulate the construction sector and increase the country's economic growth rate.
He also says that a feasibility study is being prepared for this project.
