Although it was announced this summer that the construction the Preljina-Pojate highway, that is, the Morava Corridor, might start in the autumn, another deadline has now been announced.

Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic said during her visit to Nis that the construction of this important traffic route would begin in the second half of 2020.

– We expect the works to start in June in July. The Morava Corridor is important because it connects Pojate and Preljina. It is 110 kilometers long – the minister said.

The highway will connect Corridors 10 and 11.

A total of 139 structures should be built on the route, namely, 84 bridges, 26 overpasses and three underpasses, as well as 10 interchanges. The road will be around 30 meters wide.

The Morava Corrdior will connect an area with a populace of half a million: Cacak, Kraljevo, Vrnjacka Banja, Trstenik, Krusevac, Stalac and Cicevac. Around EUR 800 million will be put into its construction.
