Five months ago, Point Group opened a biomass-fueled power plant in Boljevac, and the plan is for the facility to list on the stock exchange in 2021. As the owner of Point Group, Zoran Drakulic, said, around EUR 12 million was invested in the construction.

– Since we are constantly producing heat which we use to dry wood, we have raised a facility where electricity is produced from waste wood. It’s a little thermal power plant where, from 8 MW of heat, we get 2.4 MW of electricity from renewable sources – Drakulic told eKapija.

A pellet factory and a facility producing pellet packaging also operate within the company in Boljevac.

– We are satisfied with our operations and the facility is working as planned. We are waiting for the next year to see the first results – Drakulic says.

Let us remind that the construction of the biomass-fueled power plant began in late 2017, when it was announced that 80 people would be employed and that around 300 subcontractors would be hired as well.
