United Group to take over largest Bulgarian operator Vivacom
The acquisition follows the one from March 2019 when the investment fund BC Partners, headquartered in New York and London, bought United Group in one of the largest transactions in the region.
– The acquisition will accelerate the growth of United Group, expand its geographic presence and confirm its position as the regional leader in this industry – the company says in a press release and adds that the transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2020, subject to conditions, including receipt of applicable anti-trust approvals.
The purchase of the Bulgarian operator will be realized through a credit and United Group's own funds.
United Group operates in six countries of the region and owns SBB, Telemach, N1 and Nova S, employing over 4,400 people.
Vivacom has 1.8 million users and is the first TC company in Bulgaria to provide advanced services such as optical internet, mobile telephony and digital TV to private and business users.
