Although it had been announced that the vaccination against the swine plague would stop on October 1, the minister of agriculture of Serbia, Branislav Nedimovic, announced that it was in fact expected to stop in mid-November. This is one of the requirements for the export of domestic meat to the EU market.

Visiting pig farms in the Subotica area, he announced that those farmers would also be able to purchase state land for ten years beginning with 2020, so that the quality of state agricultural land would be maintained.

Nedimovic says that China is a great opportunity, considering the great prices and the lack of meat in that market. The first step to opening that market is to have Chinese representatives inspect the meat-packing plants, which is expected to happen in early 2020.
