Construction of section between Surcin and Obrenovac in final stage – Works to be completed by mid-December

After three years of works, the section of Corridor 11 from Surcin to Obrenovac, as announced earlier, will be completed on December 19, so the MIlos Veliki highway will be only five minutes away from Corridor 10 and Belgrade through the Surcin interchange.

As the specialized portal Beobuild reports, the construction of this section is in the final stage, the works are going as planned and it is likely that everything will be completed within the deadline.

The section of Corridor 11 which will connect Surcin and Obrenovac is 17.6 kilometers long, and the most significant structures on this route are the bridge on the Sava near Baric and the two attractive and functional interchanges – Surcin and Obrenovac.

Once the works are completed, the Milos Veliki highway (Belgrade-Cacak) will be 120 kilometers long, B92.net reports.

The bridge which connects the Sava coasts is 1,581 meters long, and the main span above the navigable part is 175 meters long. It consists of 27 columns and 30 spanning structures, which were built simultaneously on both sides of the river thanks to a special system.

The value of the project of the Surcin-Obrenovac section is EUR 208 million, and the main contractor is China Communications Construction Company.

Several very important changes were made during the execution of the project, and the most important one for drivers is the decision to exclude this section from the toll collection system.
