Mostar-Siroki Brijeg-Croatian border high-speed road in planning – Construction costs for 63 km estimated at BAM 730 million

A high-speed road should soon connect Mostar with the Croatian border. The Mostar-Siroki Brijeg-Croatian border high-speed road should be 63-km long and will cost BAM 730 million.

The annual report on the operations of the PE Autoceste FBiH, in the part pertaining to an overview of the preparatory activities for the other sections of the highway and the high-speed road, also specifies a description of the Mostar-Siroki Brijeg-Croatian border high-speed road (phase I), which will be 63-km long.

The preliminary design has already been prepared and further activities are planned for this year, namely, the preparation of public contests for the preparation of the preliminary and the main project.

According to the preliminary design, this road will connect Corridor Vc from the Sjever interchange and will serve as a bypass route around Mostar.

In Polog, the road will connect with the southern bypass route around Mostar through which it will connect to Corridor Vc. It will further extend toward Siroki Brijeg, then through the municipality of Grude, to the Croatian border, where it will connect with the Imotski-Zagvozd high-speed road.

The total costs of the construction between Mostar and Siroki Brijeg to the Croatian border are BAM 730 million, and the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has already set aside 13 million to be spent on planning and expropriation.

This, then, is the initial phase of the planning of the project, which, once it is completed, will be an extremely important road connection in southern B&H.
