Opening of 4th AHk Oktoberfest – Beer with brass rock ’n’ roll
The event, organized by the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce (AHK Serbia), started with the opening of a beer barrel, and Anne-Kristin Piplica, Head of the Economic Section of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, addressed the crowd, reminding that 400 companies from Germany operated in Serbia, employing over 60,000 people.
– We have another year ahead of us and we hope that the trend of economic progress would continue all the way to the next Oktoberfest, and the Economic Section of the German embassy is at your disposal – Piplica said and then symbolically cracked the beer barrel open with a wooden mallet.
The president of AHK Serbia, Dr Ronald Seeliger, and the Managing Director of the Chamber, Martin Knapp, also welcomed the crowd.
The Dejan Petrovic & Big Band brass orchestra performed during the opening evening, including a brass cover of a rock ’n’ roll hit.
Along with beer and Bavarian cuisine, the event featured a drinking contest, and eKapija’s representative nearly won the glass-holding contest. The party continues this Friday...
