Huawei to open its Data Center in Kragujevac
The Chinese data center will be located in the building of the State Data Center in Kragujevac, the construction of which began this June.
The memorandum with this Chinese company should be signed within a month.
– We have carried out talks with Huawei, primarily about the state data center in Kragujevac. With the construction of this large regional data center, which we are partly building using the state budget, and partly from a World Bank credit, we want to create a specialized space for the storage of equipment and data of the public administration and local self-governments, but also of large commercial users – Jovanovic explains.
Through the cooperation with this company, Serbia might get access to the so-called HPC computers, which enable real-time data processing and provide a platform for AI, and the Office for IT and e-Government would enable the usage of this platform by universities and science-technology parks in Serbia.
As one of the world's largest manufacturers of mobile phones and 5G equipment and a company with its own mobile apps, Huawei will get an opportunity to store its data in Kragujevac after it completes the works on the construction of our Data Center.
In Europe, Huawei has two regional data centers, one in Germany and the other in the Netherlands.
