The Australian company Easter Mining should soon get the green light for the exploitation of zinc, lead, barite and noble metals in Vares.

A member of the management and co-owner of the company, Milos Bosnjakovic, informed the members of the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton who were on a visit to Vares, that geological explorations had confirmed the cost-effectiveness of the exploitation and that they are waiting for the planning permit. After it is obtained, they will apply for the exploitation permit.

– Around 100 people are employed on exploration and other works, including a considerable number of local citizens, and the company will soon move its seat from Sarajevo to Vares – it was said at the meeting.

During its visit to this mining area, the delegation of the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton promised to have bureaucratic barriers removed and the processes in the cantonal institutions adapted to investors looking to explore the mineral resources, as well as to have exploration concession fees reduced so as to attract new investors.
