The Commission for Protection of Competition has authorized, in a summary procedure, the Republic of Serbia and China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) to found a joint LLC in the Republic of Serbia for the purpose of building an industrial park on the north coast of the Danube in Belgrade.

As said in the Commission's decision, the company will be founded for the purpose of designing, building, financing, managing and maintaining the industrial park.

– The company's income will be realized through the following activities: leasing of industrial facilities, warehouses, office buildings and other facilities owned by the joint company, sale or lease of land owned by the joint company, fees for property management and provision of services and other services in line with the business plan – the decision reads.

The applicants, the Republic of Serbia and CRBC, said that the proposed transaction would be carried out in three phases. The first phase pertains to the beginning of the works, the second phase pertains to the expansion of works, whereas the third phase pertains to the future development of the park.

The beginning of the construction depends on the approval of the planning and project documentation and the necessary preparatory works. The time frame and the features of the development of the second and the third phase are not fixed. They depend on the actual execution of the works on the project.

According to the application, the project covers three main segments:

1. An international trade center, consisting of a center for the sale of consumer goods, a logistics and storage center, an exhibit center and other facilities. This center will take up around 8 hectares.

2. An industrial park, consisting of workshops, warehouses, administrative buildings, a utility building and other facilities. This park will take up around 247 hectares.

3. A high-tech park, which will encompass a technological incubator building, an administrative building for companies, utility buildings and other facilities. This park will take up around 20 hectares.
