German Vorwerk to start producing parts for Volkswagen, Audi, Volvo and others this autumn at new Preljina factory

The German company Vorwerk will officially begin serial production of car parts in the next month at its new facility in Preljina, near Cacak. As announced earlier, the company will employ around 1,000 people in the upcoming period, whereas, initially, around 300 people of Cacak will work on the production lines at Vorwerk.

The mayor of Cacak, Milun Todorovic, said that the realistic expectations were for the production and export of car parts for Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Porsche, Bentley, Volvo and other manufacturers to begin in the next thirty days. He adds, however, that the opportunity presented to Cacak after the opening of the Milos Veliki highway is yet to be used. In addition to attracting foreign investments, local enterprises will also benefit from this investment.

– The existing industrial zone in Konjevici, which is meant for local enterprises and which spreads on 111 hectares, is already in the final phase. A lot of companies have positioned there, numbering around 2,200 employees in total. Large exporters and producers, including domestic companies, already operate there. As for incentives in terms of infrastructure, there’s gasification, electrification, optical cables and everything that these local and foreign companies need to develop, follow trends and achieve technological development – said the mayor of Cacak.

– Currently, we have more than 600 construction sited in the city’s territory, and I hope that the new highway will be used by those returning to the city and that those who have stayed will be able to find their opportunity at local companies, but also at Germany’s Vorwerk.
