The Serbian company Delta Holding has not given up on investments in the Croatian market and is interested in investing in the sectors of hotel management and agriculture, the company’s representatives pointed out on Tuesday at a conference for the regional press in Zajecar.

Miroslav Miskovic, the owner of the company, has announced several times that the company plans to invest in the construction of a whole new hotel in Zagreb or in the acquisition of Hotel Esplanada.

– To realize this, both sides need to be interested. We rate the business environment in Croatia well and we believe that there should be no problems if we start investing in the Croatian market – said the CEO of Delta Real Estate, Zorana Burlic.

– We are a company which knows no boundaries and we are open for all forms of business. The fact is that we’ve expressed an interest in some of the hotels, that we are interested in Esplanada, but both sides need to be interested in order for the transaction to occur. If the Esplanada project fails, we might go for another hotel.

When asked by the Croatian press if they are interested in acquiring any companies from the Fortenova Group system, she said that there was an interest, but that the company was being restructured at the moment. She said that the situation was complicated and that she couldn’t give any concrete statement until it cleared up.

Delta is already present in the Croatian market, through a trader of agricultural products. The distribution manager of Delta Agrar, Luka Popovic, said that, in 2018 alone, Delta bough out around 20,000 tons of soy in the Croatian market.

Delta Holding, as they said, has set aside EUR 600 million for various investment projects in the fields of real estate, agriculture and other fields in the upcoming period.

In 2018, the company had an income of EUR 497 million, which is a growth by 9% compared to a year before, with the agrarian sector contributing EUR 236 million. In this period, they opened two shopping malls, one in Banjaluka and the other in Varna, Bulgaria.
