Elektroprivreda Crne Gore to build Gvozd wind farm with Austrian company
This was announced by the executive manager of the Directorate for Development and Engineering at the company, Ivan Mrvaljevic.
The General Meeting of EPCG reached the decision on the construction of the wind farm in late August, and Mrvaljevic said that the entire process had been transparent and that everything regarding the project had been done in line with the laws and the statute of EPCG, the Mina agency reports.
– Last year, we initiated a big five-year investment cycle, the implementation of which is well on its way. The reconstruction and the modernization of the existing facilities will enable stable operations and an extension of the wind farms’ life cycle, and the implementation of advanced technologies and modern information systems of management will enable their full automation, thereby creating the possibility of providing systemic and help services – Mrvaljevic told the Pobjeda newspaper.
According to him, the need for the diversification of the production of electrical energy from RES, primarily sun and wind, has been recognized as one of the biggest priorities for development in the upcoming period.
He said that the wind farm should have a capacity of 50 MW and an annual production of around 150 GWh.
– The construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2021 and take 18 months. The test run should take place in the autumn of 2022 – Mrvaljevic specified.
