The Minister of Infrastructure of Serbia, Milutin Mrkonjić, said yesterday (October 5, 2009) that the tender for construction of 70-kilometer section of Belgrade-South Adriatics highway would be announced on January 1st, 2010.

He said to the press in the village of Gukoš near Ljig that the works on Belgrade-Ljig highway section, worth about 100m EUR, would commence in spring 2010.

Mrkonjić opened the works on rural road 700 meters long in Gukoš, which are financed from the budget of Serbia, and it also opened the works on local road in the municipality of Mionica, which will connect the church in Ribnica, the place where Živojin Mišić, Serbian duke from the World War I, went to primary school, with regional road Mionica-Ljig.

According to some earlier announcements of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Serbia, between 250 and 300m EUR are needed for construction of Belgrade-Lajkovac section of the Belgrade-South Adriatics highway, and Serbia has, so far, provided about 100m EUR for that project.
