Schneider Electric to continue developing operations in Serbia
– We have big plans for Serbia. When I came here, I was delighted with what I had encountered. So many talented young people in one place. I've worked in numerous companies and I believe we can be very proud of what we have here in Novi Sad – D'Acosta said.
He reminded that Schneider Electric had been operating in Serbia for a long time and that it had acquired the 100% ownership over DMS Novi Sad in June 2018.
– Schneider Electric has developed the most advanced software system in the world, and according to numerous consulting companies, we have been the leader in this field for 70 years. Our center in Novi Sad features 800 software engineers creating the most advanced software for the electrical industry. From here, we protect and control electrical systems worldwide, which requires a lot of responsibility – D'Acosta pointed out.
As he said, the company plans to keep investing in the development of its operations in our country.
– Schneider Electric will keep growing and developing in the digital space. From Novi Sad, we will work on upgrading what we've been producing for the past 20 years, but we also plan to implement certain innovations when it comes to software development. We will keep producing state-of-the-art software, but also expand our activities, using the advantages of virtual and augmented reality, following the development of the technology... This will bring new diversity to the company, while providing our company with more room for innovations and creativity. I also expect us to bring us more work – D'Acosta said.
He pointed out that Schneider Electirc cooperated very well with faculties in Serbia and reminded that agreements had been signed not too long before with the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade. He also announced cooperation with the University of Nis.
– The cooperation with these faculties is very important to us and we will work on numerous projects together. We will offer scholarships and tuition fees to the students, thereby creating new jobs, both in Novi Sad and in Belgrade, where an office employing 35 people started working on September 1 – D'Acosta said.
