CargoOperator from Novi Sad facilitates business for logistics companies – Cloud platform connecting all participants in a chain within a company
– Parallel with solving the burning issues, I worked on modeling a platform as a software solution that would facilitate my work, but the lack of time slowed down the development of the initial idea – Nikolic says for eKapija.
The conditions for the realization were created only after he met Nemanja Popovic and Damir Vojinovic through his job. Having recognized the potential of the platform he had presented as an idea, they started planning in more detail and looking into the logistics, examining all its aspects, primarily the practical problems that would be solved with the help of it.
– Our project is designed primarily as a cloud platform which connects all the participants in a logistics chain within a company, from the storers and the clients on one side, through the operators of the organizer itself, all the way to the transporters and the drivers on the other. Logistics processes, such as presenting the need for transport, finding a vehicle, sending an order and communicating with the drivers would be carried out in real time through a web and mobile app, exchanging data through the platform itself. It should be noted that the platform should be extendable in terms of the number of users and their authorization – Nikolic and his colleagues agree and add that the project is in the earliest stage of development.
The team consisting of three hard-working and creative people has recently been selected to enter the Delta Business Incubator, a program for support and development of startups.
– We believe that taking part in the Delta Business Incubator will help us see the potential of our idea from all sides and direct them toward the realization. Entering the DBI means a lot to us, primarily due to the dedicated mentoring team, which is helping us selflessly by providing us with knowledge in the domain of logistics, economy and IT, as one such product would connect the knowledge from the said fields. There’s also the help in carrying out the preparations for launching a startup, the preparatory phases which lead us through workshops, from the idea itself, market research, through preparing a business plan to presenting it to investors – Popovic says.
The platform they are creating is meant for providers of logistics services, that is, companies which provide logistics services to clients with the help of their own or external sources.
Its primary purpose is to facilitate the work of all the operators, primarily through speeding up individual processes, reducing the number of redundant calls and operations, as logistics operations are very dynamic and stressful, and all manual operations, which could otherwise be automated or accelerated, make them even more difficult.
– Considering that one member of the team is permanently employed at a transport company, he has the opportunity to be in touch with client’s needs. We already have several clients interested in testing its beta version. The platform is in an early stage of development and we expect to have beta users in a couple of months, who will in fact feel the benefits from implementing it in their everyday operations – Nikolic says.
The launch of the first version of the platform on the market is in fact only the first step and the real work is only just beginning.
– The upgrade of services and constant, dedicated work on improving the product are crucial to having the product persist. User feedback will be of utmost importance in the first phase, as the platform is meant for solving their everyday problems – Vojinovic concludes.
Let us remind that, in addition to CargoOperator, the company Future Reality Systems, which revolutionizes architectural design, has also been selected for the Delta Business Incubator, and more about this company can be found in a separate article.
